Well, today we are celebrating Father's Day, a day which we honor our fathers and express our gratitude for all his support and love. Every year, this very special day is celebrated on the third Sunday of June in most countries in the world (and today, June 20th is the third Sunday). The idea of celebrating Father's Day is to show our affection and tell our fathers how much he is loved and appreciated, not just on Father's Day but every single day of our lives. For all their adorable scolding and affectionate punishments, we do owe big thanks to them. Am I right? ;)

This day also brings with it the wonderful opportunity to seek forgiveness for all our rude and insensitive behaviors. Sometimes, we often take the love of our parents for granted and treat them without respects. So, we do need to apologize. Why? We must feel great to have the presence of loving fathers in our lives and do not disrespect the blessing of what has given by God (Allah for the muslims) on us.

Remember one thing: do not (or should I say never) wait until it is too late to let our fathers to know that we really love him very much and appreciate all that he has done for us. But if any of you whose fathers have already passed away, let's not forget to say a special prayer for him on this special day and it should be practiced for every other day as well. Al-Fatihah...

I'm not very good at poem, but I think this is a good one to share:

Fathers are Wonderful People by Helen Steiner Rice

Fathers are wonderful people
Too little understood,
And we do not sing their praises
As often as we should...

For, somehow, Father seems to be
The man who pays the bills,
While Mother binds up little hurts
And nurses all our ills...

And Father struggles daily
To live up to "HIS IMAGE"
As protector and provider
And "hero or the scrimmage"...

And perhaps that is the reason
We sometimes get the notion,
That Fathers are not subject
To the thing we call emotion,

But if you look inside Dad's heart,
Where no one else can see
You'll find he's sentimental
And as "soft" as he can be...

But he's so busy every day
In the grueling race of life,
He leaves the sentimental stuff
To his partner and his wife...

But Fathers are just WONDERFUL
In a million different ways,
And they merit loving compliments
And accolade of praise,

For the only reason Dad aspires
To fortune and success
Is to make the family proud of him
And to bring them happiness...

He's a guardian and a guide,
Someone that we can count on
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

And last but not least, dedicate a song by - Ketika Aku Kecil, so enjoy and thanks for reading my blog, cheers!
